Restoring Detroit's David Whitney Building

One of 26 fiberglass lion head pieces being crafted for the David Whitney Building as part of a restoration project. Starting next week, workers from Ram Construction will haul the lion heads up 19 stories to the top of the building in Grand Circus Park. The heads, each 3 feet across, will be attached to new cornices, which will restore the ones ripped off in an ill-advised modernization in the 1950s.
