Katrina teaches lessons in pet rescues

When Hurricane Katrina struck on Aug. 29, 2005, people refused to leave without their pets and first reponders would refuse to take pets with their owners - even service animals. Now, laws have changed how animal welfare groups and emergency responders approach pet rescues.
