Protests in Charlotte turn violent

Police and protesters carry a seriously wounded protester into the parking area of the the Omni Hotel during a march to protest the police shooting death of Keith Scott turned violent Sept. 21, 2016 in Charlotte, N.C. The wounded man was initially reported to have died, but city officials later said he was in critical condition. Scott, who was black, was shot and killed at an apartment complex near UNC Charlotte by police officers, who say they warned Scott to drop a gun he was allegedly holding. A state of emergency has been declared in the city.
