Harbaugh, players salute Michigan’s newest recruit

Larry Prout Jr., 15, of Howell, knuckle bumps Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh as he waits for his news conference to begin, Tuesday evening, October 11th at UM's Schembechler Hall. Prout, who was born with a number of maladies, including spina bifida, and has endured nearly 90 surgeries in his short life, was paired up with the UM football team through Team IMPACT, a non-profit based in Boston whose mission is to improve the lives of children born with life-threatening and/or chronic illnesses. Prout officially announced his commitment to the University of Michigan football team at the press conference, with his parents, Larry and Kathy, as well as coach Harbaugh, quarterback John O'Korn, and several other members of both Mott Children's Hospital and players from the Michigan football team in attendance.
