Washington Nationals' Max Scherzer pitches in the first inning against his former team, the Detroit Tigers, at Nationals Field in Washington, D.C., Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Scherzer struck out 20 Tigers in a 3-2 Nationals victory, joining Kerry Wood, Randy Johnson and Roger Clemens as the only pitchers in major league history to record 20 strikeouts in a nine-inning game.
