Defensive tackles: Ndamukong Suh, right, and Nick Fairley, left, deserve the most credit for the Lions’ defensive prowess. Suh leads the NFL with 20 quarterback hurries, and Fairley is second with 17, according to Pro Football Focus. C.J. Mosley has been effective, too. The Lions are allowing just 74 yards rushing per game, mostly because teams can’t run up the middle. They’re allowing just 216.4 passing yards per game, largely because Suh and Fairley either create pressure or opportunities for the ends. Suh’s asking price continues to go up, and the Lions will regret not signing Fairley’s fifth-year option, despite his recent injury, as he’s finally proven he can be consistent.
