Wisconsin 'hurting' after giving away Saturday night's game to LSU

Save for the fact Wisconsin was wearing different colors, the Badgers did their best imitation of an early 2000s Michigan State team, dominating a top-level opponent for the majority of the game before wrapping the game up with a bow and handing it away in the end.

Nebraska 55, Florida Atlantic 7: Cornhuskers' 'Red Storm' blows away Owls

Ameer Abdullah and Tommy Armstrong Jr. had career games and Nebraska had its most productive offensive day in almost a quarter century. Illinois 28, Youngstown State 17: Illinois looks sloppy but manages a victory

The Illini had just one touchdown on the board, had managed to hold the ball for barely 10 minutes and, bottom line, trailed FCS school Youngstown State by two points. But over the final quarter and change, Lunt looked like the quarterback Illinois expected. And with a solid dose of luck, the Illini dodged the kind of loss in their opener that could have seriously damaged their season, coming from behind twice to beat the Penguins 28-17.

There might come a time Ohio State coach Urban Meyer expands his offensive playbook to include various long passes, reverses and bootlegs. Until his young quarterback gains confidence and his line grows up, the No. 5 Buckeyes will likely count on the kind of conservative game plan that proved good enough to beat Navy 34-17 Saturday.
