Napoleon — A southeastern Michigan skydiving operation grounded during a lawsuit between the company and its longtime host airport is trying another option.

The Ann Arbor News reports Tuesday that Skydive Tecumseh ran some flights Sunday at Napoleon Airport, northwest of its home at Lenawee County’s Al Meyers Airport. Nothing is permanent, but officials say they are discussing possibilities.

A December hearing is set for the skydiving company’s complaint filed in March against the Tecumseh airport. The airport was bought last year by Andrew Aalto, who wants to discontinue skydiving.

A judge said last week she couldn’t order Al Meyers Airport to allow skydiving during the suit.

Skydive Tecumseh has operated from the Tecumseh airport for years and owns adjacent property but had only an oral agreement to use it.
