Chicago — Nissan rolled out expanded Midnight Edition offerings on five additional vehicles Wednesday ahead of the Chicago Auto Show.

Originally launched on the Nissan Maxima SR, the packages will be now be available on the Sentra, Altima, Rogue, Murano and Pathfinder. In 2016, the Midnight Edition package accounted for 85 percent of Nissan’s Maxima SR sales.

The equipment packages outfit the vehicles with black wheels, a black spoiler, black mirror caps, special floor mats and other equipment such as illuminated kick plates, LED headlights, remote engine starters or custom tires depending on the model.

The new options also come with an expanded color palette. All six models are available in black, white, gray and red.

“The idea of expanding the availability of the Midnight Edition package was driven by customers who loved the blackout treatment on Maxima SR and asked for it to be available on other popular Nissan vehicles,” said Christian Meunier, senior vice president of Nissan North America, Inc. sales and marketing and operations, and chairman of Nissan Canada. “The six models offering Midnight Edition packages account for more than 75 percent of our U.S. sales, so we think they will find a receptive audience.”

The packages range from $490 on the Sentra SR, to $1,195 on the Maxima, Murano and Pathfinder.
