Chicago — Nissan Motor Co. unveiled new King Cab versions of its 2017 Titan and Titan XD pickup Thursday, which will go on sale this spring.

The new models shown at the Chicago Auto Show complete Nissan’s pickup line-up and push the Titan into the commercial area with added options that boost storage.

The King Cab has available seating for six, wide-opening rear doors and additional in-cab storage space.

The Titan King Cab will be offered in 4x4 and 4x2 drives in three grades — S, SV and Pro-4X. All grades come standard with a 390-horsepower 5.6-liter Endurance V-8 and 7-speed automatic transmission. The Titan XD King Cab will also be available in those grades; buyers have a choce of the 5.6-liter Endurance with 7-speed or a Cummins 5-liter V-8 Turbo Diesel with 310 horsepower and 6-speed Aisin automatic transmission.

The launch of the King Cab is the last progression in a lineup that began in December 2015 with the debut of the Titan XD.

The King Cab body, designed in San Diego, offers the choice of a front split-bench seat, or front bucket seats. A fold-down rear seat is standard. The King Cab has a “rear seat delete” option, which turns the rear of the cab into a flat surface for cargo.

“This feature is going to be extremely well received by commercial truck buyers for its extra utility and secure, climate-safe storage space inside the cab,” said Fred Diaz, Nissan North America’s division vice president and general manager for trucks and light commercial vehicles.
