Nearly 40 Somerset Collection retailers opened pop-up holiday stores in downtown Detroit Wednesday in the First National Building on Woodward Avenue.
Somerset CityLoft, the temporary downtown retail venue, now in its seventh year, introduces the Troy stores to a new market and audience. Participants include Gucci, Lilly Pulitzer, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and Ralph Lauren.
Other lures for shoppers include Santa’s Wonderland, a kids-only store where children can shop for family and friends for a $5 donation — and the Snowman Collection with 25 designer snowmen decked out by Somerset stores in an igloo-shaped structure at nearby Cadillac Square.
The pop-ups will close for the season on Dec. 23.
