The story has been updated to say that that Greg Newman and Keystone Commercial Real Estate are partners in the outlet mall deal.
A new outlet mall planned for Romulus has already secured anchor retailers for the property.
The 365,000-square-foot Outlets of Michigan project will feature Nike, Gap, Old Navy, Under Armour, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Express, Brooks Brothers and Off Broadway Shoes, said Greg Newman, principal for Keystone Commercial Real Estate, LLC.
Construction should begin this summer on the site, which is located opposite the Detroit Metropolitan Airport at the intersection of I-94 and Vining Road.
The outlet mall will also feature a 188,500-square-foot marketplace center located to the north of Wick Road.
The project is being developed in conjunction with Paragon Outlet Partners and New England Development out of Maryland.
Michele Dawson, vice president of leasing with Paragon, said the property has generated “tremendous interest” but that the information is not being released yet.
“We do not release names of tenants who have signed leases until closer to the center opening,” she said in an email. “The person who spoke at yesterday's event does not represent the landlord.”
The center should be opened in 2016 and feature about 75 retail shops.
