Popular Swedish furniture retailer IKEA is heading to Windsor, store officials announced Wednesday.

The new location will serve as a pick up and order center for customers who have shopped online or at an IKEA store. It’s purpose is to reduce delivery times and costs for customers, officials said.

The center is scheduled to open in the spring at 4115 Walker. It will employ 30 to 35 employees.

“We welcome IKEA to Windsor,” Mayor Drew Dilkens said in a statement Wednesday. “The IKEA brand has been an international favorite for years and having a store right here will provide our residents with another great reason to shop locally while also adding jobs to the local economy.”
