Award-winning neighborhood beverage store Champane's Wine Cellar has opened a bar on site.

Last weekend was the debut of Champane's Pub, which offers two dozen taps and wine by the glass. This gives shoppers a chance to relax and taste a glass or two of a product before committing to whole six pack or bottle. Champane's Pub also has televisions and free Wi-Fi.

The store has been operating in Warren for more than 25 years and often hosts beer and wine tastings. It's also a good place to pick up a gift basket for the holidays.

Both the pub and store are at 7007 Chicago in Warren. Hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Mon.-Sat. and noon-5:30 p.m. Sun. Call (586) 978-9463.

Addison Eatery opens for breakfast and lunch

After a soft opening in late October, Addison Eatery is up and running at 3111 Woodward just south of Mack, where Atlas Global Bistro was until it closed in 2013.

Addison, named after the building it's housed in, serves inventive breakfast items such as red velvet pancakes, bourbon apple French toast and classics like shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles and omelets. For lunch, try the salmon BLT with garlic aioli and avocado or the cast iron macaroni and cheese (you can add lobster to it). Addison also serves a Maurice salad.

The decor is simple, sparse even, and the service is friendly. Hours are 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. weekends.
