Nearly 20 restaurants will participate in the Flint Restaurant Week May 17-22. The five-day event aims to promote the city, marred by the water crisis, in a positive way.

Local restaurants in the downtown Flint area – bars, cafes, delis and even the Farmers Market – will offer special menus and pricing, live entertainment and other activities.

Sponsored by the Michigan Restaurant Association, Flint Restaurant Week participants include Soggy Bottom Bar, Blackstone’s, the Lunch Studio, the Torch Bar & Grill, Table & Tap barbecue restaurant, Merge Asian street food, Flint Crepe Co., Luigi’s pizza spot, Cork on Saginaw, White Horse Tavern, Cafe Rhema, 501 Bar and Grill, Hoffman’s Deco Deli, Churchill’s Food and Spirits, Tenacity Brewing, Local Grocer, Steady Eddy’s Cafe, El Potrero and the Flint Farmers Market.

“The restaurant community in Flint has been a beacon of light, showing true leadership during a difficult time,” said Justin Winslow, president and CEO of the MRA in a press release. “They reflect the heart and resilience of the city, and the MRA is honored to support Flint Restaurant Week. I encourage everyone to travel to Flint next week and have a great meal, a great time, and to support an industry that plays an important role in so many lives.”
