Over the weekend actor Mark Wahlberg announced his Greektown Walhburgers restaurant would open in four weeks. Tuesday the restaurant put out a call for employees on social media.
“Join our family,” read a message posted to the restaurant’s Facebook page Tuesday. “It’s more fun in our house!”
An open house to search for potential staff members is planned for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. July 6 and 7 at Wahlburgers at 569 Monroe in Greektown.
Interested employees are invited to bring their resume to the open house. Wahlburgers Detroit is hiring managers, experienced cooks, prep cooks, bartenders, servers, food runners, greeters plus assembly and utility workers.
The 4,200-square-foot restaurant is expected to open around July 23, and will be the first of six Wahlburgers planned for the southeast Michigan area. These locations are part of a nationwide expansion for the brand, which struck deals with various franchise groups to expand to a total of 118 restaurants.
The casual burger chain – which is also owned by the actor’s brothers chef Paul Wahlberg and Donnie Wahlberg, also an actor –is featured on an A&E reality show of the same name.
