The first of two Michigan locations of popular Pittsburgh sandwich chain Primanti Bros. will open Wednesday.
Primanti Bros., 23000 Eurkea Road in Taylor, will open to the public at 3 p.m. Aug. 3. A giveaway of free sandwiches for a year will start at noon for the first 100 people who line up. Folks are welcome to line up as early as 5 a.m.
An invite-only event Tuesday evening will raise funds for Sparky Anderson’s CATCH Charity for Children. Primanti Bros. will match all donations raised and give out complimentary food and drinks.
Primanti Bros. was founded as a family business in 1933 and has locations all over Pennsylvania, as well as Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Indiana and Florida.
The chain is known for putting french fries, grilled meats, cheese and other toppings between two huge slices of Italian bread. The Taylor restaurant will also serve salads, burgers, pizza, wings and a full bar with daily drink specials and happy hours.
A second Michigan location will open at 43335 Crescent Blvd., in Novi shortly after Labor Day.
