Some of Metro Detroit chefs have been invited to cook at the prestigious James Beard Foundation’s Beard House in New York City.
On Oct. 14 the Detroit Athletic Club chef Kevin Brennan will highlight Michigan ingredients at a multi-course dinner paired with wines from Celani Family Vineyards and Blackstar Farms. “The Last Word” cocktail – a gin-based prohibition-era drink developed at the Detroit Athletic Club decades ago – will be served, too.
James Rigato will be the guest chef at the Beard House on Nov. 4. His dinner, “Autumn Cider Celebration,” features beverages from Any Orchard. Rigato’s Hazel Park restaurant Mabel Gray was listed as a semifinalist in the James Beard Foundation Awards picks for Best New Restaurant nationwide.
