In the fall, the owners of Bird and the Bread announced they would change concepts at the Birmingham restaurant and bring back their wine bar, Vinotecca.

The transition is complete, and Vinotecca, which was previously in Royal Oak, is set to debut in its new location Friday.

Known for being an approachable spot for wine experts and novices alike, the new Vinotecca will have a digital wine list, a small-plates menu from chef Adam Galloway and live jazz and blues music. Weekend brunch launches on Feb. 3.

“We have long wanted to bring Vinotecca to Birmingham and reinvent it here as we continue to educate and entertain our guests with the exciting world of wine and food,” said Vinteccoa owner Kristin Jonna in a press release. She also owns Vinology in Ann Arbor, along with her father, John Jonna.

The new spot opens just in time to participate in Birmingham Restaurant Week, which is Monday-Feb. 2 and Feb. 5-9. Vinotecca will offer a wine-friendly, three-course dinner for $30.

Hours at Vinotecca, 210 S. Old Woodward, will be 4-10 p.m. Tues.-Sun. and at 10 a.m. Sat. and Sun. for brunch. Call (248) 203-6600 or visit vinotecca.com for reservations.
