The calendar may say September, but in Ann Arbor this weekend, it's all about Oktoberfest.

To mark its 20th anniversary, Grizzly Peak Brewing Co. in Ann Arbor will host a two-day block party Friday and Saturday. In addition to four beer options, revelers will find live music, outdoor games, German-inspired fare and can catch of glimpse of the brewpub's new look and menu.

The block party takes place from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and 3 p.m. to midnight Saturday on Washington Street in front of Grizzly Peak, between Ashley and Main streets.

The celebration will include the official tapping of a collaborative anniversary beer, Grizzly Peak XX Pale Ale. The beer features a higher concentration of hops and malt than Grizzly Peak’s usual pale ale. This limited-time 7-barrel batch of beer was a collaborative effort among head brewer Duncan Williams and past brewers who left their mark on the Grizzly Peak: Ron Jeffries, founder of Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales and president of Northern United Brewing Company, Stacy Roth, brewer at Griffin Claw Brewing Co., formerly Arbor Brewing Co. and Arcadia Brewing Co., Sean Brennan, brewer at Original Gravity Brewing Co., formerly Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales and Northern United Brewing Co. and Nathan Hukill, founder and brewer at Bitter Old Fecker Rustic Ales.

Oktoberfest is a free event, while food, beverages and merchandise varies in price.

Festivalgoers will notice some changes inside the restaurant, including updates to the overall look of the brewpub and a new glass door that opens up the view of the brewing process. The menu has been updated as well.
