If you’re looking for excuse to grab a cold one from the fridge or head to your favorite bar, you’re in luck.

Today is International Beer Day.

According to the website InternationalBeerDay.com, “It's a day for beer lovers everywhere to raise a toast to our brewers and bartenders, and rejoice in the greatness of beer!”

In case you're wondering, the official day started in 2007 by San Francisco-based entrepreneur Jesse Avshalomov, a craft beer enthusiast.

“A group of friends and I decided that there needed to be a day in celebration of all things beer, a day in thanks to the people who produce and provide our favorite beverage,” he writes on the website.

Clearly, other beer lovers supported his cause, and it’s since taken off worldwide.

In honor of the 10th International Beer Day, we thought we’d ask you, First Draft readers, what’s your favorite beer? Tell us in the comments.
