After pleading no contest Friday to one felony count of giving ecstasy to a woman in 2012 (the charge was reduced from sexual assault), singer CeeLo Green took to Twitter on Sunday and fired off several questionable tweets (he has since deleted them). Billboard reports one of the tweets said “women who have really been raped remember.” He apologized, sort of, saying he’s sorry if his tweets were taken “so far out of context.” The apology wasn’t enough for TBS executives. NBC News reports that TBS opted not to renew his reality show “The Good Life.” By t he way, for his plea, Green was sentenced with three years of probation, 360 hours of community service and 52 AA meetings.
‘Batman V Superman’ visits Detroit deli
A scene for the upcoming “Batman V Superman” film was shot at historic Hygrade Deli on Michigan Avenue in Detroit last week. The breakfast and lunch spot, known for its Reuben sandwiches, posted details of the experience on Facebook. The inside and outside of the restaurant was filmed, and some employees were used as extras. “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” is set to hit theaters in the spring of 2016.
The Biebs arrested again
Pop star Justin Bieber was arrested for dangerous driving and assault Friday in Ontario, Canada. The 20-year-old allegedly hit a minivan with the all-terrain vehicle he was driving near his hometown of Stratford, Ontario. Rolling Stone reports Bieber’s lawyer suggested the incident is the fault of photographers. “Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s peaceful retreat in Stratford this weekend was unfortunately disrupted by the unwelcome presence of the paparazzi,” his lawyer, Brian Greenspan, said. “This has regrettably resulted in charges of dangerous driving and assault. Mr. Bieber and Ms. Gomez have fully cooperated in the police investigation.”
■ Chris Brown pleaded guilty on Tuesday to misdemeanor assault for hitting a man outside a Washington hotel last October. The assault that occurred while he was on probation for attacking then-girlfriend Rihanna. He was sentenced to time served, which was two days in a District of Columbia jail.
■Two big pop tours were announced this week. Maroon 5 will travel in support of its latest album “V,” released Tuesday. They hit The Palace of Auburn Hills on March 18. Tickets, $29.50-$125, go on sale Sept. 13. Usher will bring his full-scale headlining tour “UR Experience” to The Palace on Nov. 4. Tickets for that show are $38-$153 and go on sale Sept. 15.
