Jeremy Irons arrives in Detroit for ‘Batman’ film

British actor Jeremy Irons has reportedly landed in Detroit to film his scenes for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” according to The Academy Award-winning actor is cast to play Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth.

Ariana Grande musical guest for SNL, announces tour

The 40th season of “Saturday Night Live” will premiere Sept. 27 with host Chris Pratt and musical guest Ariana Grande. Sarah Silverman and Maroon 5 are on deck for the Oct. 4 episode. Silverman was a featured player and writer for the 1993-94 season of SNL. It’s a big month for Grande. Her fall 2015 tour was announced this week. “The Honeymoon Tour” hits The Palace of Auburn Hills on March 7. Tickets, $29.50-$69.50, go on sale Sept. 20.

Bob Seger releases video for ‘Detroit Made’

Classic rocker Bob Seger released a video for his car-themed song “Detroit Made.” The video, which can be viewed at, includes shots of this year’s Woodward Dream Cruise as well as marquee shots of the Fox Theatre and Fillmore Detroit. The song, a John Hiatt cover, is part of Seger’s upcoming album “Ride Out,” due Oct. 14.

Stevie Wonder short tour includes The Palace

Stevie Wonder’s 11-date “Songs in the Key of Life” tour, announced Wednesday, hits The Palace of Auburn Hills on Nov. 20. Tickets to on sale Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. Ticket price is to be announced.

‘Family Guy’ creator releases holiday album

Animator, writer, singer and actor Seth MacFarlane will release an album of Christmas classics on Sept. 30. “Holiday for Swing” will feature collaborations with Norah Jones (“Little Jack Frost Get Lost”) and Sara Bareilles (“Baby, It’s Cold Outside”), and features a 52-piece orchestra. The album was arranged and conducted by Joel McNeely.

■“The Talk” co-host Sara Gilbert is expecting her first child with wife Linda Perry. Gilbert, best known for her role as Darlene Conner on “Roseanne,” has two children with ex-wife Allison Adler.

■Professional wrestler Sean O’Haire, 43, was found dead at his home in South Carolina Tuesday. The cause of death is unknown.

Mel Brooks cemented his hand prints in front of the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood Monday. The comedic director — winner of an Academy Award, Tonys and Grammys — had to pull a stunt, and wore a prosthetic extra finger, making six for his left hand.
