Couric to return to NBC?

Katie Couric, the anchor who gives new meaning to perky, may be angling for a return to NBC, nine years after she was drummed out. The reason? Her friend Andrew Lack, who made Couric a star on "Today" from 1991 to 2006, was tapped Friday as the new chairman of NBC News and MSNBC. There's even scuttlebutt that Couric, 58, could take disgraced-fibber Brian Williams place on the Nightly News. An unidentified source at NBC told Page Six, "Katie is very good friends with Andy Lack, and anything could happen." Since her exile from the peacock network, Couric has been global anchor for Yahoo, where she's reportedly renegotiating her contract.

ISIS brouhaha at SNL

"Weekend Update" co-anchor Colin Jost, 32, is mystified by the outrage sparked by "SNL's" recent ISIS sketch. In the clip, a father says a sentimental goodbye to his well-scrubbed, excited daughter, who's about to be picked up by friends — who turn out to be a group of ISIS terrorists in a white pick-up truck, brandishing machine guns. "People in the audience laughed," Jost told Page Six at a Manhattan reception for "Saturday Night Live: The Book." SNL producer and Jimmy Fallon sidekick, 51-year-old Steve Higgins also weighed in, saying, "Who really thinks we're on ISIS' side? It wasn't like a lot of people really came out against the sketch. It was a few (expletive deleted) yelling into their hats."

Cate adopts a kid

"Cinderella" star Cate Blanchett, 45, now has four children, adding a daughter to the three sons she's had with husband, screenwriter Andrew Upton, 49, the blond beauty's rep told People magazine. The baby girl's name and age have not yet released, but Blanchett told InStyle a few years ago that she wanted to have more kids one way or another. "Just when, I don't know. But the thing is, we hadn't planned any of the others. They just popped out. So you shouldn't overplan these things. If it happens, it would be great." The couple and their kids live in Sydney, Australia.

Still more Hollywood kids

The pair were born March 1 at home in Los Angeles, according to Shahi's representative. Shahi and Howey already have a 5-year-old son, William Wolf.
