Elton John calls for Dolce and Gabbana boycott
Singer Elton John has called for a boycott of Dolce & Gabbana products after fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana (who are gay) made comments against gay adoption in Italy’s Panorama magazine. Dolce told the Italian language magazine, “We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one.” He continued: “You are born to a mother and a father — or at least that’s how it should be. I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalog.” Gabbana agreed, saying “the family is not a fad.” Elton John took to Instagram to call the designers out and wrote “how dare you refer to my beautiful children as ‘synthetic.’ And shame on you for wagging your judgmental little fingers at IVF — a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfill their dream of having children. Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again.”
Bieber apologizes for bad behavior at roast
The Comedy Central roast of Justin Bieber was taped over the weekend, and the Associated Press reports that the singer took the opportunity to make amends for his bad behavior. “I turned a lot of people off over the past few years, but I know I can still turn out good music and turn everything all around,” he said. “I’ve lost some of my best qualities. For that, I am sorry.” The pop star was lambasted by comedians and celebrities, including Kevin Hart (he hosted), Snoop Dogg, Shaquille O’Neal, Martha Stewart, Ludacris and Chris D’Elia. The latter, a comedian and star of NBC’s “Undateable,” told Bieber: “You have it all ... except love, friends, good parents and a Grammy.” The roast special airs March 30 on Comedy Central.
