Janet Jackson tour skips Detroit
Janet Jackson is hitting the road later this year, but Detroit isn't in her crosshairs. Jackson's 36-date Unbreakable World Tour launches August 31 in Vancouver and snakes through Canada before touching down at Grand Rapids' Van Andel Arena on Sept. 11, eventually wrapping in Honolulu on Nov. 12. As for Detroit, we'll have to keep our fingers crossed for another leg. Tickets for the Grand Rapids show, $20-$99.50, go on sale at 10 a.m. June 22.
Rapper Blanco: I'm HIV-positive
Rapper Mykki Blanco has revealed he is living with HIV. "I've been HIV Positive since 2011, my entire career," the N.Y. native wrote in a post on Facebook. "(Expletive) stigma and hiding in the dark, this is my real life." The rapper, who identifies as transgender, has released several mixtapes, and his debut album is tentatively due out later this year.
Kristen Stewart's mom denies 'outing'
Kristen Stewart's mother is denying a tabloid report that she "outed" her daughter's sexuality. The Mirror printed a story over the weekend saying Stewart's mother, Jules, spoke about Stewart's rumored girlfriend, Alicia Cargile. "What's not to be accepting about her now having a girlfriend?" Jules was quoted as saying. "She's happy. I've met Kristen's new girlfriend, I like her." Jules tells Us Weekly, however, that she never made those statements. "Never ever did we discuss Kristen!" she said, saying she discussed only her new film, an upcoming fundraiser and her views on gay rights — although she does say, when asked, she called Cargile "a lovely girl."
Drake hosts party
Drake hosted a massive backyard party in Los Angeles over the weekend, TMZ reports. Among the 500-plus attendees: Kanye West, Amber Rose — the exes were not together and did not interact, TMZ says — Compton rapper The Game, New York rapper French Montana and Detroit Pistons star Brandon Jennings, among others. On the menu at the shindig was typical barbecue fare, including hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken wings, and there was a foam party on the grounds, as well, so you know everyone kept it clean. A partygoer tells TMZ it was "the best party of the year so far," so the stakes for your July 4 party have just been upped.
Rupert Wyatt, who helmed 2011's "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" and last year's "The Gambler," has been tapped to direct the upcoming "Gambit," which will star Channing Tatum as the Marvel mutant, EW.com reported Monday.
