The Weeknd — ready for love?

Singer The Weeknd is quoted about dating model Bella Hadid in the forthcoming “Vanity Fair,” stating “I’m definitely not scared of love anymore. If it happens, then it happens. It’s definitely refreshing to find someone who’s as passionate about their career as I am about mine.”

The Toronto-born artist, 25, also talked about the hygiene and maintenance of his coif. “I don’t do anything but clean it. This is my natural hair, it’s growing naturally, and I love it. It gives me an identity — I feel like it gives me powers sometimes.”

New Orleans musical icon Allen Toussaint dies

Music legend Allen Toussaint, 77, died in Madrid, Spain, having suffered a heart attack in his hotel room after a concert. Even those who didn’t know his solo work knew him as a songwriter/producer and session pianist — he worked with Ernie K-Doe, Lee Dorsey and others at Minit Records in New Orleans, in the early ’60s. It’s impossible to list all the memorable songs Toussaint wrote or produced, but some of the highlights were Dorsey’s “Workin’ in a Coal Mine” and “Everything I do Gonh Be Funky;” Ernie K-Doe’s “Mother-in-Law,”Irma Thomas’“It’s Raining” and “Ruler of My Heart,” LaBelle’s “Lady Marmalade” and “Southern Nights,” with which Glen Campbell scored his biggest hit. He wrote and recorded the instrumental “Whipped Cream,” which Herb Alpert later grabbed and made his own with the Tijuana Brass. After Toussaint’s Gentilly home was flooded out by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, he relocated to New York for a while and collaborated on the Grammy-winning album “The River in Reverse” with Elvis Costello.

Bündchen almost left Brady over girlfriend’s pregnancy

Before he was at the center of “Deflategate,” New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was caught up in a mini-scandal for dating (and later marrying) Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen, despite the fact his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, was pregnant. Bündchen, 35, told People she thought about backing out of the relationship when she heard about the pregnancy, but she gave him a second chance. Bündchen married Brady in 2009 and they had two children together. Moynahan’s and Brady’s son is now 8. “I think, now, eight years later, I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter bonus child,” Bündchen told the magazine.

Gwyneth’s regret

Gwyneth Paltrow revealed that the end of her 12-year marriage to the father of her children, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, was the one thing in her life that didn’t go as planned, during the Pearl xChange Q&A hosted by Nicole Richie in Los Angeles on Sunday, reported the New York Daily News. “I am from a tribe of people who stay married,” said Paltrow, 43. “My parents (Blythe Danner and Bruce Paltrow) stayed married until my dad died. I really don’t come from a culture of divorce at all, and I had very high hopes for what my life could be like.” Paltrow took a beating last year from social media for calling the divorce a “conscious uncoupling.” She and Martin have two children, Apple, 11, and Moses, 9.
