Fox Theatre announces 2016-2017 series
Season tickets for the 2016-2017 Fox Theatre Series went on sale Monday. The lineup includes award-winning productions and holiday favorites:

Birmingham barbershop hosts benefit for Orlando victims
Floyd’s 99 barbershop in Birmingham will host a fundraiser for the victims of the shooting in an Orlando nightclub. On Sunday from 6-9 p.m. the shop will throw a party with food from Detroit Taco, Tito’s vodka cocktails, DJs, a silent auction and more. Admission is a $20 suggested donation. Floyd’s 99 has a location in Orlando not far from Pulse nightclub; 16 of the 49 people killed in the attack were clients. KEM adds second Chene Park concert
Detroit R&B artist KEM is set to play a homecoming concert with Lalah Hathaway on Friday at Chene Park. The show is nearly sold out, so a second concert was added for Saturday night. For each ticket sold, KEM will donate $5 to the Salvation Army of Genesee County Emergency Assistance Fund to help with the Flint water crisis. Tickets are $36 lawn and $56-$100 pavilion. Dance and dine at American Coney Island
American Coney Island on Lafayette in Detroit is hosting DJ Joe Maroon from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday. The $20 cover charge will get you a coney dog, fries, drink and raffle ticket. The event is a fundraiser for Avalon Village, an initiative to turn a blighted neighborhood in Highland Park into an eco village with solar lights and a greenhouse. The Kickstarter campaign has raised over $172,000 of the $241,900 goal.
■Tickets are on sale for 89X’s “Chill on the Hill” at Freedom Hill Amphitheatre on Sept. 30. The lineup includes Bastille, The Used, Pierce the Veil, NOFX, Billy Talent, Beartooth, Finish Ticket, Smashing Satellites and Run River North.
