Carrie Fisher reveals affair with Harrison Ford

Carrie Fisher has spilled the beans about her affair with Harrison Ford — 40 years later. The three-month fling occurred while the two were filming the 1976 original “Star Wars” as Princess Leia and Han Solo. Ford was a 33-year-old father of two at the time, and Fisher was 19. Now 60, Fisher told People, “I didn’t say anything to anybody for years, but it’s not like anyone’s deeply affected by it anymore.” Ford talks about the relationship in her new book, “The Princess Diarist,” coming out next week. She says she sent Ford, now 74, a draft as a heads up. “Harrison’s very private, but I think I waited an appropriate amount of time,” she says of sharing their secret. “How much longer could I wait?”

Local celebs in ‘Dancing with the Detroit Stars’

Calvin Johnson Jr. won’t be taking the dance floor in this dancing competition, but some Metro Detroit notables will try to channel the former Lions wide receiver’s “Dancing with the Stars” success for “Dancing with the Detroit Stars” on Saturday at the Birmingham Townsend Hotel. The event, 7 p.m. to midnight, is a benefit for the South Oakland Shelter, which supports homeless men, women and children in Oakland County. The local celebrity dancers include University of Michigan Fab Five member Jimmy King; Mary Callaghan Lynch, artistic director of The Motor City Lyric Opera; Brad Emmett, executive creative director at Doner; Patrick E. Lynch, president of Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors; Birmingham Covington School teacher Elizabeth Cook; Next Step Broadway owner Amy Burnette; and Beverly Hills Club personal trainer Cindi Hodgman. Each dancer will be paired with a professional from Arthur Murray Dance Studio. DWTS judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Julianne Hough won’t be critiquing their routines, but there will be a few judges you might recognize: Rabbi Rachel Shere of Adat Shalom Synagogue; Abood Law attorney Alycia Penn Covington; Ignition Media Group CEO Dennis Archer Jr.; and Arthur Murray’s dance professional Jeremiah Childers. 105.9 Kiss FM morning show host Coco is the emcee. Tickets are $200, which includes a dinner and open bar. Purchase tickets at southoaklandshelter.org.

Ricky Martin announces engagement

Ellen Degeneres got the scoop on Ricky Martin’s love life when the singer revealed he’s engaged to 32-year-old artist Jwan Yosef during “The Ellen Degeneres Show” on Wednesday. The two met over a year ago, and Martin, 44, says he popped the question — except he forgot the four most important words. “I was really nervous, but I got on my knees ... and instead of saying ‘Will you marry me?’ I said, ‘I got you something!’ Bad. And then he was like, ‘Yes?’ I said, ‘I want to spend my life with you,’ and he was like, ‘What is the question?” Martin got the right words out then: “Would you marry me?” Ready for La Vida Loca, Yosef said “yes.”
