Television news reporter Ronnie Dahl is leaving her post at WXYZ-TV to take a job with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

She announced the news to social media earlier this month, adding that she’ll be working in the Detroit office of the bureau, so she’ll stay local.

“Thanks to all of you who shared kind words and well wishes,” she said on Facebook. “It’s been an adventure, Detroit.”

Dahl’s last day at the station is Friday. She joined WXYZ-TV in 2013. A send-off party is planned for her at Rosie O’Grady’s on W. Nine Mile in Ferndale at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
