Brush up on those Hitsville tunes, “Motown the Musical” is holding an open audition in Detroit April 18.
Producers are once again looking for African-American singers in their 20s, 30s and 40s to cast for the national touring production of the hit show. Auditions are 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-5 p.m. at the Motown Museum, 2648 W. Grand Blvd. in Detroit. Sign-up hours are 8:30-10:30 a.m.
Talent is asked to bring a picture and resume with contact information, plus sheet music for a Motown song of their choice. They’ll be asked to perform with the provided accompanist.
Rehearsals for the tour begin in August in New York City, “Motown” opens in Chicago in September and closes in June 2018.
