Michigan State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 94 at the Lodge Freeway that killed one man early Friday.
Officials have not yet identified the man, MSP Lt. Mike Shaw said.
Shaw said the crash happened at about 6:40 a.m.
Investigators believe the driver of a pickup was turning northbound onto the Lodge from westbound I-94 “but for some reason left the exit ramp and struck the M-10 overpass,” Shaw said.
The man was the only occupant of the vehicle, he said, and no other injuries were reported.
Police are awaiting results of a toxicology test to determine whether the motorist had a medical issue or if he drove off the ramp for some other reason, Shaw said.
