Detroit police are investigating a shooting of a 23-year-old while he was driving with a 4-year-old in the backseat on Detroit's west side.
The shooting occurred at 3:55 p.m. Friday as the man drove down the 8600 block of Stahelin Avenue and reported being shot at. Police said he heard gunshots then realized he had been shot. Police said the man flagged down a scout unit.
The 23-year-old sustained multiple gunshot wounds and is in critical condition.
Police say there was a 4-year-old boy in the backseat who was unharmed and is now with his grandmother.
