Detroit Police on Wednesday arrested a man who allegedly shot a motorist’s car with a crossbow before barricading himself in his home on the city’s east side.
The incident started about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday near the man’s home in the 18000 block of Keystone, near Seven Mile and Mound, Detroit Police officer Jennifer Moreno said.
“A woman was driving near the suspect’s home when he exited the house and fired the weapon, striking the victim’s vehicle,” she said.
The woman drove to the 11th Precinct to report the crime, Moreno said.
“Officers arrived at the scene, and observed the suspect still armed with the weapon,” she said. “He then went into his home, and it became a barricaded person situation.”
Officers were eventually able to remove the man from the home and arrest him, Moreno said. It was unclear how long the standoff lasted.
“There were no injuries — just the damage to the car,” she said.
