Detroit police have found a person of interest wanted in connection with a fatal shooting on the city’s west side last year.

Police had been working to find Danny James Robinson II, 28, whom they believe had information related to the crime.

At 8:40 p.m. Dec. 11, a male victim between the ages of 50-60 was found at a home on the 2700 block of Cortland with a fatal gunshot wound to the head, police reported.

Court records identify the victim as James Hunt Jr. He was 53, and a 27-year-old Detroit man Cap Winn has been charged in his death.

Robinson turned himself in to the city's Third Precinct, police said Friday.

He was taken into custody on unrelated charges for a felony warrant.

Meanwhile, police are continuing to investigate the fatal shooting.

They ask anyone who might have information to contact the Detroit police Homicide Unit at (313) 596-6114 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
