After a 28-year-old Detroit man was hit in Mount Clemens and the driver left the scene Tuesday night, Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a dark green Chrysler Sebring.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Gratiot near Park Street at 11:52 p.m. Tuesday that someone had been hit by a car. There they found the 28-year-old man “lying on the ground in front of a closed business” Mt. Clemens Fire Department also responded and transported the man to an area hospital with a head injury. The car-pedestrian crash took place on the northbound side of Gratiot.

In the roadway, police found car parts from the vehicle that hit the man, and further investigation yielded video footage with the car on it. The man had been crossing from east to west on Gratiot when hit in the center lane.

Police say the vehicle is a dark green Chrysler Sebring, model years somewhere between 2001 and 2006. The vehicle would have damage to the passenger side on its front end and to the rear-view mirror on the passenger side.

The victim is still hospitalized, still in stable condition, and is expected to survive.

The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone with information on the dark green Chrysler Sebring or the person who drive it to call its detective bureau at (586) 307-9358.
