A power outage has canceled classes at Macomb Community College's Clinton Township campus, the school announced Wednesday morning.

The power outage, whose origin was not immediately known, will affect morning, afternoon and evening classes, officials said.

A spokesman said crews are working on repairs, but it's not known when they'll be completed.

He also said the campus' University Center will remain open and all classes there will be held as scheduled.

DTE Energy's Outage Map shows no outages in the area, and spokesman John Fossen said there are no outages affecting that area in Clinton Township.

Sean Patrick, a spokesman for the college, said the school is looking into the "root cause" and added, "it does not appear to be a DTE issue."
