Howling wind and rain Monday night let up in time for a dry sunrise Tuesday, when temperatures are expected to reach the mid to upper 50s, said meteorologist Mike Richter with the weather service in White Lake Township.
"Normal temperature today would be around 43 degrees," Richter said of the unseasonably warm conditions. "We'll see some sun, but there's going to be some clouds around. Not complete overcast."
Dry conditions Tuesday follow overnight showers that dropped between a half-inch to quarter-inch of rain and saw wind speeds topping 45 miles per hour, Richter said.
The rain is expected to return Tuesday night and into Wednesday, Richter said.
"We're looking at about a 30 percent chance (of rain) tonight and then 40 percent chance tomorrow," he said Tuesday morning. "Tomorrow, temperatures are going to be in the 50s again, the mid 50s or so."
Winter jackets could make a comeback Thursday after a cold front "knocks temperatures down a little," Richter said.
"Thursday, we're looking at temperatures right around that normal (seasonal) value of 42 or 43 degrees," he said. Friday's forecast appears similar to Thursday's, Richter added.
"Essentially this brings us around the normal temperatures for the first of December."
