Facebook is changing how its users will see content.

Earlier this month, the social media giant announced it is reducing the number of posts you'll see in your feed from news organizations and other in favor of posts by friends and family.

If you rely on Facebook to get your news, this means you could be less likely to get the news you need to know.

There is a way to keep your favorite news sources in your news feed. Here’s how to do it:

On the iPhone app:

1. Tap ☰ (the three-line menu) in the bottom right-hand corner of the app.

2. Scroll down and tap on the “Settings” option.

3. Tap “News Feed Preferences."

4. Tap "Prioritize who to see first."

 5. Tap on the pages and profiles you want to see in your newsfeed (including The Detroit News). You’ll be able to tell which ones are selected because they will get a blue star on them.

6. Tap "Done" once you’ve made your choices.
