Kameron Chatman had 21 points with eight rebounds to lead all five Detroit Mercy starters in double-figure scoring in a 74-60 victory over IUPUI at Calihan Hall on Friday night.
Chatman, who had four assists and three steals, scored 12 in the first half when Detroit took a 38-28 lead after shooting 52 percent and leading by 18.
The Titans led the entire game and made 8 of 19 3-point tries. Roschon Prince and Josh McFolley added 14 points with McFolley making four of the Titans’ 11 steals. DeShawndre Black scored 13 and Cole Long 12 with seven assists for the Titans (7-17, 3-8 Horizon).
Jaylen Minnett led the Jaguars (7-15, 4-7), who have lost four straight, with four 3-pointers for his 12 points. IUPUI didn’t get closer than seven in the second half.
The victory avenged an 81-66 loss at IUPUI on Jan. 16.

(At) Buffalo 92, Western Michigan 86: CJ Massinburg scored 26 and Buffalo shot 59 percent from the field. Massinburg hit a 3-pointer to make it 84-72 with 1:45 left and made 8 of 10 foul shots in the final minute to help the Bulls (17-6, 9-1 Mid-American Conference) hold on for the win.
Buffalo made 34 of 58 from the field, including 10 of 21 from 3-point range. Jeremy Harris made all four of his 3-point attempts and scored 16, Nick Perkins added 17 points and Wes Clark 13 points, six rebounds and nine assists.
Thomas Wilder led the Broncos (13-10, 5-5) with 34 points. He made 10 of 17 from the field, 3 of 5 from 3-point range and 9 of 12 from the foul line.
Brandon Johnson had 13 points, Drake LaMont 12 and Reggie Jones 11 for Western Michigan.
Chicago-Illinois 79, (at) Oakland 73: Martez Walker scored 21 and Kendrick Nunn added 20 for the Golden Grizzlies (14-10, 6-5 Horizon), who shot 29 percent (8-of-28) from the field in the first half. Tai Odiase's 19 points led four players in double figures scoring for UIC (13-11, 8-3).
No. 22 Rhode Island 81, (at) VCU 68: E.C. Matthews scored 18 points, Jared Terrell had 16 and Rhode Island win its 14th straight. Cyril Langevine added 12 points and a career-high 18 rebounds for Rhode Island (19-3, 11-0 Atlantic 10). The winning streak is the program’s longest since the 1930-40 Rams won 15 straight. URI also stretched its road winning streak in conference games to 11, the longest such streak in program history.
Justin Tillman scored 22 points to lead VCU (14-9, 6-4), which dropped out of a three-way tie for second place in the conference. Sean Mobley added 15, all in the first half.
