Oakland’s Kendrick Nunn has been named one of 10 candidates for the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced Tuesday.

Nunn, a redshirt senior from Chicago, leads the NCAA in 3-pointers per game (4.64). He also ranks second nationally in scoring (26.0) and total 3-pointers made (102).

This is the first season at Oakland for Nunn (6-3, 193), who transferred from Illinois. In addition to the 26.0 points he is also averaging 4.6 rebounds. He is shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 39.8 percent on 3-pointers.

Oakland (15-10, 7-5 Horizon) returns to action Friday at the O’rena with a 9 p.m. game against Detroit. The game will be televised by ESPN2.
