Reaction of the Pistons’ trade with Orlando on Tuesday – forward Tobias Harris for guard Brandon Jennings and forward Ersan Ilyasova:

Former Pistons guard Chauncey Billups, ESPN: “Love it!! I think Tobias is a potential All-Star in our league.”

Bill Simmons, HBO: “Liked the move by Detroit to snare Tobias Harris for 2 expiring (contracts). He’s a gamer. Weird move by Orlando unless a 2nd one is coming.”

Chris Mannix, Yahoo: “(Reggie) Jackson and Harris are signed long term, with (Andre) Drummond right behind them. What a job SVG has done building an enviable young core in Detroit.”

Tim Bontemps, Washington Post: “I really like this trade for Detroit. Harris is right in the same age range as the rest of Pistons core, and with a declining deal, too.”

Zach Lowe, ESPN: “The Pistons are building a team that can switch at least 2-3-4 on D for most of every game. Detroit sacrifices some cap space, but can look at Harris essentially as a free agency signing they lock in without bidding under higher cap.”

Sam Amick, USA Today: “A move that will make the Eastern Conference playoff race more interesting.”

David Aldridge, “Detroit gets athletic 3/4 in Harris who’ll pair nicely with KCP (Kentavious Caldwell-Pope) and Stanley Johnson at both ends — potentially sick shooting/switching combos.”
