Lions stellar in final game of 2017 season

The Detroit Lions played great in a meaningless game on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Green Bay Packers 35-11 at Ford Field to end the 2017 season.

The Lions end the season at 9-7, identical to last year's record but this time without a playoff berth. It's the first time the Lions have had consecutive winning seasons since 1995.

Despite their recent winning ways, the future is cloudy for the Lions with rumors swirling about coach Jim Caldwell's future with the team.

Questions about Ziggy Ansah's health were seemingly answered when he had one of his best games of the season, sacking Packers quarterback Brett Hundley three times. He finished the season with 11 sacks, and he's now a free agent. What the Lions offer him will be one of the stories of the off-season.

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford finished his solid season with a spectacular performance, going 20-for-29 throwing with 323 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught a two-point conversion.

The Packers were swept by the Lions for the first time since 1991 and finished the season 7-9, their first losing season since 2008, also the last time they didn't make the playoffs.
