The Detroit Lions have announced another addition to Matt Patricia's staff, bringing Bo Davis on board to coach the defensive line.

Davis most recently coached the position at the University of Texas San Antonio. Prior to that he had stops with the Jacksonville Jaguars, University of Texas and two stints at Alabama.

Davis coached Lions defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson at Alabama and helped develop defensive end Marcus Davenport, a projected first-round pick this year.

The addition of Davis rounds out the retooled defensive staff announced Wednesday. The Lions hired Paul Pasqualoni as coordinator, Brian Stewart to oversee the defensive backs and moved Al Golden over from his position coaching the tight ends to handle the linebackers moving forward.

Davis resigned from his position at Alabama in April 2016 after he was found to have committed a recruiting violation, meeting with multiple recruits before contact was allowed. He had been working at UTSA under a two-year ban from off-campus recruiting visits.
