Vera Kerastas

Vera Rose Zuzich was born in Detroit on April 18, 1924. She was salutatorian of her HS class, and she graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in chemistry. She worked as a chemist for several years. In 1948 she married John Williams Kerastas. They lived out their lives in Farmington Hills, where they raised three children. Their 73-year marriage was an inspiration. At home, she applied her talents to arts, crafts, and cuisine. Later in life, Vera and John traveled the world. She always exhibited compassion for those less fortunate, and faith in the church. She is survived by her three children and six grandchildren, who will miss her wit, candor, and kind heart.
