November 22, 1945- September 12, 2022 Janet passed away peacefully on September 12, 2022. Janet (DeLuca) Tines was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on November 22, 1945. Janet’s father, Peter DeLuca, was an Italian immigrant and Janet’s mother, Mary (George) DeLuca, was a child of immigrants from Lebanon. In 1946, Janet and her family moved to Detroit, Michigan and in 1952, Janet became a U.S. citizen. Janet attended St. Anthony Catholic School where she learned to value faith, family, education, and service. Janet was committed to her Catholic faith and proud of her heritage. Throughout her life, Janet was active in her local church and enjoyed reading, traveling, spending time with her family, and cooking, especially her homemade gnocchi. Janet married her beloved husband, Charles V. Tines (a Detroit News photographer for 47 years) on October 18, 1968, and they deeply cherished each other for over 53 years. Janet will be missed by her children, Brian Tines and Dan (Stacy) Tines, grandchildren, Mason and Marshall Tines, sister, Shirley (DeLuca) Mouton, brother, Peter DeLuca, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Janet was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony DeLuca. Janet was kind and loving to all and a comforting voice and will be remembered for her ability to listen with a warm heart. Janet has now completed her earthly journey and has begun her heavenly one. Janet will be greatly missed. The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 28, 2022, 10am at St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church, 2215 Opdyke Rd., Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304. Visitation begins at 9:30AM.
