DTE earnings rise in 3rd quarter
Detroit — DTE Energy Co.’s third-quarter earnings rose 39 percent compared to a year earlier due to more normal weather and storm activity, the electric utility said Friday.
The company said its earnings were $252 million, or $1.40 per share. That’s up from $181 million, or $1.02 per share a year ago.
“I am really pleased with our third quarter financial results, but I am also really pleased with a number of other recent accomplishments by the company that are important to our state, as well as the communities and customers we serve,” DTE Chairman and CEO Gerry Anderson said in a statement.
The utility recently increased its operating earnings per share guidance range to $4.65-$4.91 from $4.48-$4.72.
“This move was driven by continued strong performance within our non-utility businesses, which provided us with the platform to increase our guidance for 2015,” said Peter Oleksiak, DTE Energy senior vice president and chief financial officer, in a statement.
