Gerber issues recall for some of its Organic 2nd Foods Pouches
Gerber has issued a recall for some of its Organic 2nd Foods Pouches, saying the packages may spoil during transport and handling.
Gerber has voluntarily recalled Gerber Organic 2nd Foods Pouches Pears, Carrots & Peas and two batches of Organic 2nd Food Pouches Carrots, Apples & Mangoes with “best buy” dates of July 12, 2016; July 13, 2016; and July 14, 2016.
Pouches may be bloated or the food may have an “off taste or odor,” a statement by President and CEO Gary Tickle on the company’s website said.
“We are proactively working to retrieve all remaining pouches of the affected batches that fail to meet our quality standards,” Tickle said.
The pouches were distributed to U.S. retailers nationwide and through online stores, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Affected products are:
■Gerber Organic 2nd Foods Pouches – Pears, Carrots & Peas 3.5 ounces, UPC 15000074319, Batch 51945335XX with best by date of July 12, 2016, and Batch 51955335XX, best by date of July 13, 2016.
