Michigan Strategic Fund OKs new projects

Lansing – Michigan’s Strategic Fund has approved projects expected to generate more than $248 million in investment in the state.

The Michigan Economic Development Corp. also says Tuesday that the projects are expected to create more than 1,000 jobs.

Defense contractor Loc Performance Products, medical technology firm Stryker Corp. and a housing partnership are among those receiving funds.

Loc Performance Products has received a $7 million grant as it expands its manufacturing capabilities in the Lansing area.

Stryker Corp. has been awarded a $2.6 million grant as it plans to expand a facility in Portage.

A $1 million grant has been awarded to Coolidge Park Limited Dividend Association Limited Partnership Housing and Communities First, Inc. to help renovate an abandoned school site in Flint into new rental housing and commercial space.
