Is orange really the new black?

Ram Truck appears to think so. The Fiat Chrysler Automobiles brand on Thursday announced two new buzz models for its Ram 1500 Sport, including an Ignition Orange model that features limited-edition bright-orange paint.

If you prefer black, Black Sport is a blacked-out model that takes design cues from the brand's popular Black Express package. It features a customized blacked-out appearance with black 20-inch wheels and a sport hood.

"Adding limited-edition Ignition Orange and Black Sport models will give our buyers a unique, custom appearance on an already eye-catching truck with all the capability our customers expect," said Ram CEO and President Bob Hegbloom in a statement.

The exterior color treatments also travel to the inside, with orange or black accents depending on the package.

The limited-edition trucks are available in four-door Crew Cab 4x2 and 4x4 models. Standard features include a 395-horsepower Hemi V8, eight-speed TorqueFlite transmission, dual exhaust, vented sport hood and 20-inch wheels.

Orders open this week for the two new buzz models. Production starts in April. Pricing for the Ram 1500 Ignition Orange package and the Ram 1500 Black Sport package is $1,595.

Starting price of a Ram 1500 Sport Crew Cab 4x2 is about $42,200 including $1,195 destination.
